Pride Weekend Cigars

 

Wednesday, June 24, 2026 - Anticipating Pride Weekend with a La Flor Dominicana.

Friday, June 26, 2026 - Lots of cigars today. Four to be exact although the were all small ones (Romeo y Julieta). One later this morning with coffee. 

Friday afternoon Warren and I headed down to The Eagle for their Pride patio party. 

Had a few drinks.

And ran into a few people we knew. It was nice. (Can you see me in the window?)

After I got back from the bar Dale and I had salads from Lund's for dinner. Took and hour-long walk after we finished. 

Smoked 3 cigars on said walk although they were all little ones (Romeo y Julieta). 

T'was a very pleasant evening for a walk. 

Sunday, June 28, 2026 - Lit up a huge Asylum 13. Great way to end the weekend. 

Celebrate Pride. With cigars.

 Sunday, May 24, 2026 Sunday before Memorial Day Smoked a La Flor Dominicana, the Digger. Cut it. Lit it.  The draw. Seeing how well it's lit. Try again.  Looks good.  Fun cigar. Strong.  Coming up on a year since I left teaching. I'm loving not working. By the way, first day in shorts this year. And I love sitting out in the backyard with a cigar.  Dale mowed the grass today for the first time this season. It looks great. He used the electric mower of Josh from next door. I think he loves letting us use it. They are so eco-conscious which is fantastic. So are we.  Today we hit 80 degrees for the second or third time this year.  Drank a couple of Old Fashioneds to go with my stogie. Great comination. Dale joined me with some white wine as we got closer to dinner time.

Roger Moore, Cigar Aficionado

Roger Moore was my favorite James Bond. He had the role from when I was a young kid all the way through to my teens. I think his Bond movies were, if not the the best of them, the most campy and fun. I remember watching them on the ABC Sunday Night Movie. This was before home video and streaming so if you wanted to watch something you had to see it when first released to the movie theaters or wait until it was on TV. Mr. Moore looks great with a cigar.  Roger Moore was a cigar enthusiast in real life. Prior to Moore taking over the role of James Bond the character of the spy was played by Sean Connery. In the Connery films Bond was portrayed as a light cigarette smoker in contrast to the heavy smoker of the novels. It's said Moore did this to differentiate his version of the character from Connery's. It is said Moore asked for unlimited access to cigars on the set of the Bond movies. In the above photo Moore is shown as Bond lighting up a Montecristo No. 1.
