The Cigar Life

 Monday, July 6, 2026 In Arizona to visit Dale's parents. We're staying at John and Dianne's place while we're here.. They grilled us up some hamburgers for lunch and steak for dinner. So delicious! We also watched the World Cup game between Belgium and the USA. Belgium won.  John and I smoked cigars by the pool to wind down the evening. He had a Romeo y Julieta for me and boy it was so much more pleasant than the Asylum I had on the 4th of July. Indulged in some Scotch as well. Very quiet and peaceful out. 

  Wednesday, June 24, 2026 - Anticipating Pride Weekend with a La Flor Dominicana. Friday, June 26, 2026 - Lots of cigars today. Four to be exact although the were all small ones (Romeo y Julieta). One later this morning with coffee.  Friday afternoon Warren and I headed down to The Eagle for their Pride patio party.  Had a few drinks. And ran into a few people we knew. It was nice. (Can you see me in the window?) After I got back from the bar Dale and I had salads from Lund's for dinner. Took and hour-long walk after we finished.  Smoked 3 cigars on said walk although they were all little ones (Romeo y Julieta).  T'was a very pleasant evening for a walk.  Sunday, June 28, 2026 - Lit up a huge Asylum 13. Great way to end the weekend.  Celebrate Pride. With cigars.

 Monday, February 16, 2025 Back when I was working today woulda been a day off. Now EVERY day is a day off! After the Romeo y Julieta I lit up a Hoyo de Monterrey Excalibur.

 Monday, December 15, 2025 Poured some gin and smoked a couple cigars in my upstairs cigar lounge.

  Monday, June 9, 2025 Went in this morning to finish cleaning my classroom and turn in my keys. Dale came to help. Was out of there by 10:00. Two cigars today. First was a Hoyo Excalibur. The second was a Romeo y Julieta. Ready to get my summer break and sabatical underway. 

 Monday, June 2, 2025 Can't believe we're to this point. One week of school left. I've been really good about getting in my 14,000 steps per day. Four more days of school.  *** Tuesday, June 3, 2025 Also good about getting in lots of cigars. This one's a Camacho. Three school days left.  *** Wednesday, June 4, 2025 Warmer today. Another Camacho. These are just too good. Two days left. *** Thursday, June 5, 2025 Two cigars today.  Both little Romeo y Julietas. One day left.  *** No cigar today. Last day of school (for the kids). I've gotta go in Monday to check out of my room.   *** Saturday, June 7, 2025 Another 2-cigar day. Smoked a Hoyo Excalibur this afternoon before dinner.   Dale took me to dinner at Chloe to celebrate being done with school. I drank some Old Fashioneds. Dale had wine.  We both started with the carrot/ginger soup which was delicious. I had the Coq a Vin for dinner which was delicious. Dale had the Arctic Char. He loved it. I ...

 Sunday, April 13, 2025 Drove over to Saint Paul to Stogies on Grand to get together with Steve for a cigar. He's kept a really low profile over the past 4 years or so. I've seen him a few times over the last year although he hasn't had a cigar in that time and I haven't had a cigar with him in the last 5. I think the last time was February of 2020 at Anthony's Cigar Lounge in Minneapolis, just before the pandemic. Anyway, it was good to see him and light up. I forgot my wallet so I had him buy me a stogie. He asked me what kind I wanted and I told him to get me whatever he was having which turned out to be a La Gloria Cubana.

Wednesday, February 12, 2025 It continues to be incredibly cold - single digits. At school, the kids have had indoor recess every day so far this week, the moon is full (today), conferences tomorrow after a full day with kids, and no school Friday for students but I'm doing conferences all that day. Plus we're having our Valentine's party tomorrow since the kids are off on Valentine's Day. This has all made for some really keyed up kids.  Cigar after work and then dinner with Dale at The Lowbrow since we won't be able to do our regular Thursday night out due to conferences tomorrow. Still pretty frigid out. All in all I think I'm pacing myself rather well. 

 Monday, February 10, 2025 This gon' be a long week. Bitter cold, full moon, Valentine's Day at school, and parent/teacher conferences. I'm'a hafta pace myself.
